The powerful Maher / Eustace barn led the Quinella in Group 1 with $ 500,000 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) on Morphettville over the weekend with two of their three starters ended up in the money.

However, this was the reverse of the odds with the Choisir five-year-old Snapdancer ($ 17) outperforming his peer-to-peer counterpart earning $ 3.7 million Away game ($ 7.50) in an impressive one-and-a-half win.

In the third round Robert Sangster Stakes trifecta was the favorite of the beaten, Chris WallerDouble winner of Group 1 September run ($ 5) which was almost three lengths from the surprise winner.

Snapdancer was in good shape earlier this season by winning the $ 1 million Magic Millions Fillies & Mares race on the Gold Coast in January ahead of Randwick’s dominant win in Group 3 Triscay Stakes (1200) in February.

She was a forgotten runner on the field by Robert Sangster Stakes, however, after failing down Flemington straight in Group 1 of the Newmarket Handicap (1200m) in March.

He rode Ethan BrownSnapdancer redeemed himself for that run by overcoming a barrier of 15 out of 15 to salute the double-digit in Robert Sangster.

“I couldn’t figure out what happened in the last start,” Maher told the media after Saturday’s victory.

“Bias on the track or she didn’t like straight, but we refreshed it and pretty much like we did on the Gold Coast, and the main thing with it is the start.

“I told Ethan, if you start, it remained easy and I was very surprised how easily she crossed (from the wide barrier).”

Brown, who hails from Alice Springs, was thrilled with his first Group 1 win at the Map / Eustace Stage Snapdancer.

“Getting it at such a young age is so surreal,” he said.

“I can’t explain the feeling (like) that I was already in that situation and I was overwhelmed.

“Ciaron said to just make sure I’m on her door.”

Majority owner Brad Spicer confirmed plans to target more fame in Group 1 with a now very valuable outlook for the mare after her success.

Potential upcoming tasks include Group 1 of $ 500,000 Goodwood (1200m) back to Morphettville on May 21 and or Brisbane’s Group $ 1,700,000 Tattersall’s tiara (1400m) on Eagle Farm June 25th.

“She’s a really nice horse because we can refresh her, whether it’s a refreshment of three, four, five or six weeks, so she’s ideal for such a scenario,” Spicer said. ANZ Bloodstock News.

“She loves the beach, works a little in Balnarring and the team knows her. It’s mostly where she lived whenever she was in Melbourne.

“We thought it was worth between $ 1 million and $ 1.5 million today and could return to the Gold Coast, carry 60 pounds next January in the $ 1 million race, so we weighed that and thought we would postpone its sale for another year.

“With her pedigree, she is beyond the Galileo mare, so she will open up opportunities in both hemispheres.

“There will be important stallions, and I won’t name them, who I think will love to have in their mommy band and hopefully end up with one of them so she can go to some of the best stallions in the world.”
